Bio

Jim has focused his practice on estate planning for over twenty years.  He has been involved in most facets of wealth transfer planning, including gift, estate and generation skipping transfer tax planning, grantor trusts, insurance planning, business recapitalization and restructuring, charitable giving, and estate tax audits. In addition to his estate planning practice, Jim has served as primary counsel for a number of business owners and their businesses and has assisted them in developing strategies for growth and transition. He also counsels clients regarding  pre-marital agreements and asset protection planning. Jim also has been an active participant in various legislative efforts through the NC Bar Association’s legislative committee.
